D. El. Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education)
Introduction
The D.El.Ed teacher qualification is graduation in any traditional discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. In case of a professional degree with a minimum of 55% marks. 5% relaxation to SC/ST candidates in both the cases. Age should be between 18 to 35 years. For SC/ST/OBC: 18 to 40 years and for Physically Handicapped: 18 to 50 years. The D.El.Ed teacher qualification, i.e. The Diploma in Elementary education (D.El.Ed) or BTC is of 2 years comprising 4 semesters. The recent Supreme Court judgement barring B.ed degree holders from Primary teaching posts has renewed interest in D.El.Ed because it’s mandatory for elementary teaching posts. These elementary teachers teach primary (I to V) & Upper Primary classes (V to VIII) because they prepare engaging TLM that create interest in studies. They explain concepts through story telling that comforts the children who enjoy coming to school. The D El Ed syllabus deals with subjects like Child Development, Educational Technology, Psychological Perspectives of Education, School Leadership and Management, etc. We can gauge the significance of D.El.Ed teacher qualification from the fact that all schools start from primary classes and go all the way up. It’s the Primary teachers who build a solid base in earlier classes that sets the ground for further studies. In fact, they are trained for primary classes because their effective teaching skills reduce dropout rates. Admission 2024
As mentioned earlier, the last date for D.El.Ed admission in UP has been extended till August 24, allowing candidates to apply before time. As per the CCS university guidelines, elementary education diploma (D.El.Ed) holders after completing B.Ed are eligible to pursue M.Ed. which qualifies them for senior teaching roles in colleges. To apply for D.El.Ed in UP, candidates should first register themselves at Register and follow the guidelines to apply for the prestigious D.El.Ed course. The recent Supreme Court Judgement has increased the significance of D.El.Ed because only D.El.Ed is now eligible for Primary teacher posts and not B.Ed. This is an ideal opportunity to pursue D.El.Ed because they have extended the last date until Aug 24th.
Objectives of the Program
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a 2 year course that trains for teaching Primary (I to V) and Upper Primary (VI to VIII) classes. The course deals with child psychology and children's learning patterns so that educators prepare appealing TLMs that make learning easy for the toddlers. In UP there is no entrance exam for D.El.Ed and candidates get shortlisted based on merit.
